Here we have considered various two electron processes in atomic collisions. We have suggested and used a definition of the few body concept of correlation where screening is not considered to be correlation, but a change of screening is considered to be a correlation. Two types of correlation have been distinguished: static and scattering correlation. A formulation to define these terms has been presented and simple expressions have been presented. Application to coupled channel calculations is illustrated in the Appendix. Analysis of various observations at high energies has been presented using the ideas of this formulation and suggestions for some further studies has been made. p]This work has been supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Basic Sciences, Division of Chemical Sciences. |
