Popis: Summary Thermal petrophysics today is a whole mix of methods that provide substantial support to the works in upstream sector of oil and gas industry related to the following: the need to improve the study of rock heterogeneity and anisotropy, to study the processes of heat and mass transfer in reservoirs, to study thermophysical and geochemical characteristics and to obtain reliable data on the thermal regime of the formations studied. The methods include highly nondestructive continuous thermal core profiling (with a spatial resolution of ∼ 1 mm), well-reasoned core sampling for further research, study the thermal properties of rocks at reservoir conditions, the thermal coefficient of linear expansion study over a wide temperature range, high-resolution forecast variations of the total organic carbon, elastic properties and geomechanical characteristics, determination of thermal properties of the rock mineral matrix and the dependence of the thermal properties of rocks on the pore fluid, the creation of databases necessary for thermohydrodynamic, basin and petroleum system modeling. This array of modern thermal petrophysics features was practically realized in thermophysical studies aimed at petrophysical support of exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the Tutliemskaya and Abalakskaya formations of the Em-Egovskoye oilfield.
