Popis: Background of the Study: Sleep is a basic human need. It is a universal biological process common to all people. Human spend about one-third of their lives asleep. Sleep plays an important role in maintaining good physical and mental health throughout the life. Sleep hygiene practice is one of the important variables that reduce sleep related disorders, inappropriate sleep behaviours and improves the quality of sleep. Objectives: The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge of staff nurses regarding sleep hygiene of the patients in a selected hospital. Methods and Materials: A pre experimental one group pre test post test design was adopted for the study. Non probability purposive sampling technique was used to select 60 staff nurses from the selected hospital. Data were collected by using a structured knowledge questionnaire.
