| Popis: | Defects in the function or expression level of voltage-gated ion channels are increasingly considered a crucial feature of many CNS disorders. In this chapter, we will summarize the current state of knowledge related to ion channel dysfunction in fragile X syndrome. Based on our knowledge of the normal properties of these ion channels, we provide a framework for understanding how channel dysfunction can influence neuronal information processing and plasticity and thus form the basis of abnormal brain function. |
