A description is provided of the following critical concepts for this procedure: mobilize the Meckel’s diverticulum and adjacent ileum, inspect the diverticulum for the presence of ectopic mucosa, transect and remove the Meckel’s diverticulum near the ileal mesentery, consider ileal sleeve resection if large base, and inspect the terminal ileum for adequate lumen. |
