A method is proposed for developing environmentally safe means of chemical control against biofouling of power plant water supply systems. It is based on using biobullets – water-soluble microcapsules that contain a toxic substance (active agent). Fouling organisms feed by filtering organic particles suspended in the water. They also ingest biobullets added at water intake points and subsequently die. The active agents in biobullets are homogenates from poisonous organisms living in waters near the power facility. These products are natural for the given aquatic ecosystem. |
