Popis: | On September 21, 1978, the Museum of Northern Arizona conducted an archaeological investigation of site NA15,693, a narrow gauge railroad alignment originally recorded during surveys for the proposed Salt River Project (SRP) Silverking-to-Kyrene, East End, Transmission Line. Fieldwork was conducted by Ronald K. Yablon. The data recovery program for this site consisted of comprehensively photographing the grade and plotting the location of the still existing sections. The results of these studies and subsequent archival research will be presented in the project final report. These data recovery procedures were agreed to by Tonto National Forest (Jon Scott Wood and Charlie Miller), SRP (Bettina H. Rosenberg), State Historic Preservation Office (Frank Fryman) and Museum of Northern Arizona (Donald E. Weaver, Jr. and Ronald K. Yablon) representatives during an on-site inspection tour conducted on September 12, 1978. This is a preliminary report. |
