Popis: Routinely plenty ships pass through the Kerch-Yenikalsky Channel they carry out both international and coastal voyages. Kerch Yenikalsky Channel is the only way out of the Azov Sea to the Black sea, therefore the economy of the ports of the Sea of Azov strongly depends on a possibility of fast and safe passage through the channel. The traffic capacity of the channel – up to 150 vessels per day, in 2017 up to 60 vessels passed daily. Due to the construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait some changes as for dimensions of vessels were made, it was allowed them to pass through the Channel. In addition to the size of the vessel, it’s also necessary to take into account some hydrometeorological and seasonal factors such as fogs, icing, and storms. Under such conditions, to ensure the safety of navigation, it is necessary to have a system of support for making decisions by the STSC operator (ship’s traffic separation center), which will be able to accurately estimate the width of the vessel's lane and thus it allows to assess the risks of passing the channel.
