Popis: Since the introduction of mass spectrometry (MS) as an analytical tool several soft ionization techniques, suitable for the analysis of very polar and non-volatile compounds like peptides, proteins, glycopeptides, oligosaccharides and oligonucleotides have been developed. The most important mass spectrometric techniques for these classes of compounds proved to be 252Cf plasma desorption-(PD-MS), fast atom bombardment-(FAB-MS), matrix assisted laser desorption-(MALD-MS) and electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS).
