Popis: | A very high efficiency detector for weakly ionizing particles is described. This very thin detector (2 mg/cm2), using the transitory electronic secondary emission of porous CsI, has allowed us to detect protons of 540 MeV energy with a detection efficiency η ⩾ 95% and a time resolution of 450 ps within the SATURNE synchrotron (CEN Saclay). |
