In the last decade finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) has shown satisfying results when applied to active power filters (APF). Nevertheless, when multilevel topologies are used some specific topics need to be properly addressed, such as computational burden, DC-link balance and redundancies. This paper brings a review of several proposes found in literature to deal with these issues. To verify the discussed strategies a simulation of a 5-level cascaded H-bridge (CHB) hybrid active power filter (HAPF) topology using an LCL-filter is also presented. |
