Popis: | A spiropyran based receptor involving oxygen donor ligands (MBSP) was designed and synthesized which was found to be selective towards Pb2+ ions. An addition of Pb2+ ions gives rise to the complex formation and produces a colour change visible to the naked eye and reversible to the irradiation of the visible light. 1H NMR studies confirm that closed form undergoes ring opening to the open trans- form upon addition of Pb2+ ions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first simple substituted spiropyran acting as a photo reversible switch for Pb2+ ions with the detection limit of 4 × 10−8 M. |
