Popis:	Polypeptide and protein hormones have been used extensively as model compounds in capillary electrophoresis. This is due primarily to their availability or ease of synthesis and their unique response to changes in environment or minor covalent modification. These compounds are water soluble and have half-lives from 10 to 30min in plasma. Their conformation is a sensitive function of composition and biological activity can vary widely with structure. Many studies also include derivatives or analogs of polypeptide hormones to test conditions for optimal resolution of similar peptides.
