This study aimed to produce the activated carbon from agricultural waste which were pomelo fruit, pomelo peel and pomelo branch that can promote agricultural waste utilization in community. The results found that the temperature for burning by pyrolysis process at 450 °C for 30 minutes was the best operation condition to prepare activated carbon. Pomelo fruit sample shown the best physical characteristic after pyrolysis process. NaoH was the best chemical substance for activation in this research. Activated carbon from pomelo branch shown the highest the specific surface area that was 496.37 m2/g. For the activated carbon from the pomelo fruit and pomelo peel, the specific surface area were 453.12 m2/g. and 443.94 m2/g, respectively. |
