A holographic double-exposure interferometer for deformation and vibration analysis of biomedical objects is presented. Utilizing two ns pulse-lasers and a photorefractive sillenite-type crystal to store the holograms, double-exposure interferograms can be recorded and visualized with high repetition rates. The limitations of the energy density for irradiation of human tissue defined by the German national laser safety regulations (VBG93) are taken into account. To achieve a quasi real-time inspection of dynamic processes (e.g. in medical diagnostics), a progressive scan camera and a fast frame grabber system are used to digitize the read out interferograms. A visualization of the object movement in video frame rate (25 Hz) is obtained. Using a spatial-heterodyne technique, object deformations can be calculated quantitatively from each interferogram. |
