The bauschinger effect in fine-grained AlTi alloys prepared by mechanical alloying

Popis: Based on the analysis of Bauschinger effects in MA Al-Ti alloys, it showed that the matrix mean stress developed rapidly at small plastic strains, which might account for the rather high initial strain-hardening rate usually observed in MA alloys. The matrix mean stress in these MA alloys during plastic deformation was considered to result from two sources, the incompatibility between Al 3 Ti particles and aluminum matrix, and the incompatibility between neighboring grains of the aluminum matrix. It is also suggested that the significant contribution of the incompatibility of neighboring grains to the matrix mean stress may be related to the submicron-grained structure in these MA alloys.
