Popis: | The reaction system MnCl 2 /2Na 2 S 2 /2.2CS 2 /Et 4 NSH/2Et 4 NCl in acetonitrile affords (Et 4 N) 3 [Mn(CS 4 ) 2 Cl] in high yield. Upon prolonged standing, (Et 4 N) 2 [Mn(S 6 ) 2 ] was isolated from the reaction mixture filtrate. The structures of these compounds were determined by X-ray crystallography. [Mn(CS 4 ) 2 Cl] 3− exhibits a distorted square pyramidal stereochemistry with chloride in the apical position and two five-membered chelate rings formed by the infrequently encountered perthiocarbonate ligand. Indistinguisable C—S bond distances to coordinated and free sulphur atoms at a common carbon atom indicate ligand delocalization. In [Mn(S 6 ) 2 ] 2− the manganese atom occurs in an irregular tetrahedral coordination formed by two chelating hexasulphido ligands. This work adds to the small group of sulphur-rich manganese complexes of established structures. |
