This chapter provides an overview of the monumental site of Incallcta, an important Inca installation of Collasuyu (Cochabamba, Bolivia). By analyzing the site’s layout, architecture, and surrounding landscape, the author argues that Incallacta replicated the sacred geography of the Inca capital of Cuzco. Therefore, it was one of the “other Cuzcos” in the Collasuyu region, as stated in the colonial accounts. By discussing the nature of “Other Cuzcos” as the replicas of the sacred capital, the chapter also suggests that these centers became important nodes of power and political performance, particularly in the more distant regions of the Inca Empire. |
