Popis: The principle of quadrature signal processing was implemented in a space-integrating acousto-optic correlator(SIAOC). A new SIAOC structure for quadrature filtering of phase-shift keyed signals is developed. Performance analysis for this architecture is described. Keywords: quadrature signal processing, space-integrating acousto-optic correlator, acousto-optic cell. 1 INTRODUCTION The use of acousto-optic devices makes possible real-time processing of wideband radio signals"2 throughtheir relative simplicity and possibility of multichannel operation. Wideband pulsed radio signals processingcan be implemented by space-integrating acousto-optic correlators. Well-known SIAOC scheme dos not allowthe use of potentialities of modern acoustooptic cells (AOC) because of complication of reference mask makingfor microwave signal carrier. The use of two-dimensional reference mask3 partially solves the problem, but the output signal reading requires a high-speed photodetector, that presents difficulties for the microwave case. Thescheme based on quadrature signal processing principles and two-dimensional nature of optical image is described
