Popis: | Efforts were continued on the development of power wire for operation at 2000 F for use in an aerospace environment. The first completed power wire systems capable of functioning at 2000 F were fabricated. The wire consists of a rhodium conductor, MgO insulation, platinum sheathing, and metallized alumina end seals. Rhodium was electron-beam-float refined. This processing lowers the interstitial content and allows cold working the rhodium up to a 75% reduction in area. (Author) |
