Popis: | The use of scintillators of micron thickness attached to the input windows of photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) makes it possible to create ion detectors with low sensitivity to neutrons and gamma rays. The manufacturing technology of such detectors based on the CsI(Tl) scintillator and Hamamatsu H8500D multianode PMT is described. The main steps of the process are considered, including vacuum thermal deposition of a scintillator onto substrates, gluing substrates to the PMT window, and quality control of the manufactured samples. The technology was developed for the manufacture of detectors for the neutral particle diagnostic system on the ITER tokamak reactor. |
