Popis: Adequate early prophylactic treatment for occult central-nervous-system (CNS) leukemia is one of the key elements for successful treatment in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The classical treatment of cranial irradiation 2400cGY and IT methotrexate (MTX) which was very efficient in reducing overall CNS relapse rate to 10%, and to increase cure rate [1-3J, was found to be associated with severe late sequela of secondary neoplasms (brain tumors) and significant neuro-psychological damage [4-6].
