Summary The case history of a patient has been presented in whom resection of the entire right lobe of the liver was successfully carried out for metastatic leiomyosarcoma 7 years after surgical control of the primary tumor. Two months following this resection the patient developed the symptoms, signs and laboratory findings of homologous serum hepatitis. This complication she successfully survived and remains living and well 1 year later, in spite of the fact that only 500 to 600 gm. of liver tissue in the left lobe were known to have been left at the time of right hepatic lobectomy. |
