This study examine interaction effects between Positive Affect (PA) during gambling task and individual's rational Information Processing Style (IPS: Pacini and Epstein, 1999; Naito et al., 2004) on reckless betting. The interaction effect was observed in our preliminary experiment conducted in December, 2020, and it was statistically significant and had medium-large effect size on recklessness in multiple regression analysis including the interaction effects. However, the preliminary experiment was not initially intended to test the interaction effect, and thus was only the result of an exploratory analysis based on ad hoc hypothesis, which we questioned from the reproducibility perspective. Therefore, we decided to redo the sample size design to test the interaction effect and conduct the experiment again to examine it. |
