Popis: "Laterality indices" have been used to study the organization of language function in the brain using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) for decades. On the whole, these results suggest an increase in lateralization between birth and early adulthood, as well as a sensitivity to disruption. However there is wide heterogeneity in methods of calculating laterality in task imaging, as well as uncertainty in calculating laterality in resting-state imaging. This term paper covers a sample of 99 papers studying children and adolescents using some form of fMRI.
