Dynamic Economic Dispatch Considering WT and PV Generation using Hybrid PSOS-CGSA Algorithm

Popis: This paper proposes a hybrid PSOS-CGSA metaheuristics to solve the dynamic economic dispatch (DED) problem in power systems incorporating wind (WT) and photovoltaic (PV) generators. The DED model encompasses the valve-point effect and the ramp rate constraints of thermal generators and forecasting of WT and PV generation. The proposed approach minimizes the total operating cost over the day by optimizing the output powers of thermal generators according to the forecasted daily load profile and generation profile of WT and PV. In addition, the effect of WT and PV generation on total operating cost, total energy loss and toxic gasses emission is analyzed. The proposed approach is tested on a modified IEEE 30 bus system with 6-thermal generators, one WT and one PV generator. Simulation results shows that proposed PSOS-CGSA approach provides high-quality solutions of the DED problem.
