Popis: | Summary A 3C-3D surface seismic survey was acquired over Husky Energy’s Ross Lake heavy oilfield in south-western Saskatchewan. Production is from a sand reservoir in the clastic section. We previously generated a Vp/Vs map by combining PP and PS travel time thickness maps that included the reservoir interval. We compare this traveltimebased Vp/Vs to that generated from impedance inversions performed on the post-stack PP and PS data. The impedance-based Vp/Vs is calculated by dividing the average of the inverted P-impedance over an 8ms horizonbased time window by the average of the inverted Simpedance over the same window. The impedance-based estimate appears to have higher vertical resolution. While the Vp/Vs value derived from impedance inversion is generally lower than the Vp/Vs derived from the timethickness ratios, they indicate similar anomalous areas. We interpret these as being sand rich. The impedance Vp/Vs and traveltime Vp/Vs values show promising new anomalies. |
