Popis: Summary We evaluate how to improve the multidimensional assessment of subsurface and how to optimize its use by many industrial exploitations by taking advantage of the potential of the latest developments in physics, numerical methods and the power of HPC in the urgency of climate change. Whatever the use of subsurface model for the new energy transition activities (geothermal, local or massive storage, new fluids production, waste) the domain where industrial activities are operated is the same: a volume of the subsurface. The concept of unified Geological Basin Model as a shared tool to describe the present-day state of a sedimentary basin is developed. Its use for multi-resources exploration, screening and appraisal, for design of data acquisition or subsurface monitoring as well as for setup of initial and boundary conditions of more specialized models is highlighted. Its value as a as mean for identifying, evaluating, optimizing and derisking competing or combined industrial activities in the shallow to deep subsurface domain is outlined. Some examples of extensions of the basin and petroleum system models on real case studies are used to demonstrate the ongoing work towards applications for energy transition such as massive storage.
