Popis: | Ingrown nails are common painful conditions in toe-nails. Generally, wedge resection is performed as the surgical procedure, but it is painful and the recurrence rate is high if the surgeon has little experience.Recently, we treated eight ingrown nails in seven patients with segmental phenol cauterization. There was little postoperative pain and no recurring symptoms. No patients required re-operation at one year follow-up. Almost all patients are satisfied with the results. Patients were allowed to bathe a few days after the operation and there was less morbidity. This procedure can be recommended as the surgical procedure of choice for ingrown nails. |
