Popis: 1. 03Kh12N10MT steel shows high impact strength and work of fracture and a low notch sensitivity to −253°C. 2. Cold hardening by rolling represents a reserve strengthening of this steel. In the cold-rolled condition the steel retains its high plasticity, and broken specimens show a tough fracture. 3. In the longitudinal as well as in the transverse directions the specimens cut from 12-mm-thick strip of 03Kh12N10MT steel show a high impact strength and work of fracture. 4. Welded joints which have not been heat treated after welding show, at temperatures to −253°C, no scatter of ultimate strength values during completely tough fracture. The impact strength of the weld in various weld zones is relatively high, right up to a temperature of −253°C. 5. The 03Kh12N10MT steel is a promising material for cryogenic technology since it shows a high yield point (∼85 kg/mm2) at 20°C and sufficient plasticity and toughness values to −253°C.
