The process of tube drawing was carried out in laboratory conditions using a special drawing jig clamped in a testing machine. The aim of the performed experiment was to determine the influence of technological parameters, namely the plastic strain degree, friction and drawing speed on the magnitude of the drawing force and the accuracy of the dimensions of the tubes drawing. The main monitored parameter was the plastic strain degree, the values of which changed when drawing three tubes with outer diameters of O14, 16 and 18 mm to a final outer diameter of O12 mm. The paper evaluates the influence of the plastic strain degree on the magnitude of the force required to the tubes drawing and on the dimensional accuracy of the wall thickness of the produced tubes. Research has shown that the plastic strain degree had an effect on the thickening of the tube wall, with a greater increase in thickness at higher degrees of deformation. This positive change in thickness was within the permissible tolerances applicable to the producing of precision tubes. |
