Popis: Metallographic studies of W-Ni-Fe and W-Ni-Cu alloys demonstrated that grain growth during the formation of these alloys is affected by two mechanisms: dissolution-deposition and coalescence of pairs and groups of tungsten grains. The rate of the process of merging by sintering, which is governed by the rate of surface diffusion of atoms, may be expected to be commensurate to the rate of particle growth as a result of material transport through the liquid phase.
