Popis: | The purpose of this study was (a) to measure the levels of legal development among Lebanese students and (b) to study the effect of political involvement and events due to war on their belief about laws and rules. Students (N = 60) completed a questionnaire about political involvement and events due to war and were interviewed about beliefs in laws and rules. Results indicate that the levels among Lebanese students were lower than those of their Western counterparts. The correlation of political involvement and levels of legal development was significant only for the question “Why should people follow rules?” On the basis of these results, a questionnaire about government support was administered to 30 of the 60 students. Differences were also found between men and women concerning this question, too. It was found that government support and political involvement were highly correlated (r = .90). |
