Popis: The evolution of fluid amplifiers, which function upon interaction between a stream and a wall, is progressing rapidly with marked improvements in their operating characteristics. The gain has been doubled, while the interaction between the outputs has been reduced to where they are practically decoupled. The units can be made so that the impedances are self-matching, which permits breadboarding by mere connection of units. New types of fluid elements are being evolved, such as the induction AND, which facilitate the combination of units into logic circuits. New techniques such as the modulated stream amplifier have greatly increased the flow gain while reducing the noise.
