Popis:	This paper reviews the present status concerning evolution of ISDN. The concepts, in vogue, including the work by Study Group XVHI of CCITT during the current study period (1984–88) have been incorporated in this paper. These include the architecture and reference model, customer access, bearer, tele and supplementary services, User—Network interfaces, connection types, interworking, parameter exchange and terminal identification. The present position concerning: road band ISDN concepts has also been outlined alongwith the status of all “I” series recommendations including those in the draft stage.
