Popis: The 16th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society for Biological Therapy (SBT) was held in the Natcher Auditorium on the campus of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. The meeting was organised on behalf of the society by J Wigginton MD and S Libutti MD from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Bethesda and R Zimmerman SD, from Bayer Corporation. The 2001 meeting included 60 oral and 81 poster presentations. SBT, which was founded by R Oldham MD in 1984, currently has about 350 members. The purpose of this international society, is to bring together those diverse individuals actively investigating biologicals and biological response modifiers in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, including clinicians and basic scientists from industry, government and academia. The current President is R Dillman MD from the Hoag Cancer Center in Newport Beach, California.
