Following the increased use of mobile platforms, the collision between the mobile platform and elements in its operating environment has become an issue of growing importance. Even if there are extensive researches about the ways to avoid those collisions (sensors, control strategies), in a real-life scenario the dynamics of all the other environmental elements leads to situations when the collision becomes unavoidable. In this paper we proposed, developed and evaluated a test stand for collision analysis, for a previously published theoretical model for planar link in contact with a granular material. The knowledge acquired during this work can be successfully used for impact tests for mobile platforms. |
