Popis: | The response of CaO B 2 O 3 Al 2 O 3 (cabal) glass to γ-radiation has been measured by the changes in the optical absorption spectra with different absorbed doses in the range 0.6–35 kGy. This glass was chosen on the basis of its possible use as a γ-ray dosimeter. Characteristic changes in the band structure could be predicted at different dose levels as a result of induced spectral absorption in the cabal glass. The optical energy gap (E opt ) was found to decrease as the width of the tail of the localized states in the band gap (ΔE) increased with increase in the radiation dose. |
