Study of the phase equilibria in the ternary goldgalliumtellurium system

Popis: The ternary system Au-Ga-Te has been studied by differential thermal analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray powder diffraction analysis and metallography. No definite ternary compound was found. Five isoplethic sections, AuTe 2 -Ga 2 Te 3 , AuGa 2 -GaTe, AuGa-GaTe, γ-GaTe and γ-Ga 2 Te 3 are quasi-binary sections. The establishment of the ternary equilibria phase diagram of fourteen isoplethic sections has made it possible to determine the layout of the eutectic valleys, the positions of the eutectic values and ternary invariants and thus delimit a liquid miscibility gap.
