Popis: • Background: Glucose transporter protein type-4 is the most important glucose transporter protein responsible for fetal-maternal glucose transfer to provide sufficient energy for fetal development and is responsible for insulin-dependent glucose transfer. GLUT4 expression gets altered during pregnancy and is more profound in women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus. • Objectives: This scoping review studies whether v altered in gestational diabetes mellitus. • Eligibility Criteria: All types of study designs, cross-sectional, case-control, experimental, and interventional have included women diagnosed or at risk of developing gestational diabetes mellitus and assessed for level of glucose transporter protein type-4 with at least one maternal and fetal health outcome will be included in the review. • Sources of evidence: Articles were retrieved from five databases including PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, Web of Science, and EMBASE and ross-referencing.
