Popis:	The preparation of a series of 2-(heterocyclyl)-4-ethyl-4,7-dihydro -7-oxothieno[3,2-b]pyridine-6-carboxylic acids (5j-1) by aminolysis of the corresponding 2-bromo derivative (5i) is described. None of the compounds (5j-1) showed any interesting antibacterial activity.
