The Use of Streptomycin in Resection for Pulmonary Tuberculosis**Submitted for publication January 1, 1948, Since that time six additional months observation is available. Only one patient of the cases reported here is now hospitalized (Case VIII, R. F., No. 20,087). The surgical experience with streptomycin in this institution is now approaching two years’ duration and includes the treatment of more than 300 patients. Four additional resections have been performed without any complication—three lobectomies and one segmental resection (apical and posterior subapical segments).Since the manuscript was prepared there have been other publications regarding the use of streptomycin in pulmonary resection for tuberculosis. Some of the opinions expressed here have been mentioned, Reference has been made to the possibility of segmental resection, Such independent expression seems to lend some credence to the impressions gained here
