Popis: | The fluorescence of Cr3+ ions doped insulating crystals was studied under the excitation in the long-wavelength tail of the absorption spectrum (“laser cooling regime”). The 4T2 - 4A2 and 2E - 4A2 fluorescence spectra with a dominant anti-Stokes component were observed. Though no optical refrigeration was detected in the presented experiments, the spectroscopic results suggest that electron-phonon bands of Cr3+ ions are of interest for further investigations from the point of view of achieving optical refrigeration. |
