Popis: | This article posits ideological indoctrination in direct opposition to ‘empowering texts’ such as Quentin Blake's A Sailing Boat in the Sky (2003) and Walid Taher's Al-noqta al-sawdaa [The black dot] (2009) which present children with opportunities to explore the realities and challenges of their contemporary world, and find solutions to them, unencumbered by the ideologies that adult writers who are not part of that ‘New World’ propagate in their texts. |
