Popis: A phenomenon of self-association has been shown for in vitro steroid hydroxylating system from adrenal cortex mitochondria. The data obtained testify to the presence of independent specific sites for binding with adrenodoxin reductase and cytochrome P-450 in the adrenodoxin molecule. Conditions for the reconstitution of the Sepharose-immobili-zed Fe2S2 adrenodoxin cluster have been found. The results of the limited trypsin digestion of the 20S, 22R-cholesterol hydroxylating cytochrome P-450 are presented. Proteolyzed cytochrome P-450 has been shown to retain its functional activity for a certain period of time both with a reconstituted in a solution 20S, 22R-cholesterol hydroxylating system and with self-association of the system on a column with immobilized adrenodoxin.
