Popis: | This work presents a tool for the optimal economic and technical sizing of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) providing simultaneous multiple services to the Power System. The considered services may include: provision of primary frequency regulation; provision of secondary frequency regulation; provision of tertiary frequency regulation; reduction of the imbalance of a Renewable Energy Sources (RES) generator “coupled” to the BESS. Participation to wholesale (Day-ahead) electricity market is also considered. The tool is implemented as a linear programming mathematical model in which all the regulatory obligation related to the services considered are included as constraints. The tool has been used to assess the difference in cost-effectiveness of installing a BESS in the NORD market zone or in the FOGN market zone of the Italian Power System. |
