Relationship Between Big Five Personality Traits, Emotional Intelligence and Self-esteem Among College Students

Popis: The current research study was on the “Relationship between Big Five Personality Traits & Emotional Intelligence and Self-esteem among the College Students”. This work is based on cross sectional survey research design. The convenience sample was used by including 170 female Students studying at government college kotla Arab Ali khan Gujrat, Pakistan, degree program of 3rdyear and 4thyear. The study variables were measured using Big Five Inventory Scale by Goldberg (1993), Emotional Intelligence by (Genos) and Self-esteem Scale Rosenberg (1965). The aim of the study was to measure the Relationship between Big Five Personality Traits & Emotional Intelligence and Self-esteem among the College Students. And it was hypothesized that there will be correlation between Personality Traits, Emotional Intelligence and Self-esteem. Data was analyzed with statistical package for social sciences (SPSS-16 version). Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to find out the relationship between Big Five Personality Traits, Emotional Intelligence and Self-esteem. The findings of the study supported that Significant Negative Correlation between personality Traits, Emotional Intelligence and self-esteem, highly Significant Correlation between Emotional Intelligence and Self-esteem.
