The main aim of this article is to identify the characteristics of prepared Magnetorheological fluid (MRF) fluids, composed of iron particles and analyze their flow behavior in terms of the stability and magnetorheological (MR) properties. MR fluids are prepared using silicone oil and sunflower oil, mixed with iron powder. To reduce sedimentation, grease is added as stabilizers. Sedimentation is measured by simple observation of changes in boundary position between clear and turbid part of MR fluid placed into glass tube. MRF’s will be tested to see the influence of various additive percentages and magnetic field effect on mechanical behavioural characteristics. |
