On two-step copolymerization

Popis: The method for two-step copolymerization is developed to obtain carbo-hetero-chain copolymers. The method combines processes, proceeding by various mechanisms (radical and ionic), and consists of simultaneous or subsequent action of the catalyst of both types. In the case of the subsequent addition of the catalyst to the initial reagent mixture, the anionic grafting of ∈-caprolactam to the polymer that is formed at the initial stage of the process and is a macromolecular initiator of the anionic polymerization takes place. Principal regularities of the copolymerization of ∈-caprolactam with vinyl monomers (in particular, with styrene) have been studied.
