Popis: | Extraction of knowledge from online communities through user forums and discussion portals hold primary significance in health informatics. The posts which includes reviews, suggestions, feedbacks etc. in online forums is voluminous Big Data from which the information regarding a particular health issue is mined for the betterment of patient, pharmaceutical industry and medical society. These information should be trustworthy i.e. posted by trusted user. There is need to ascertain the user's credibility who posts the information. In the existing works the user participation with respect to number of posts and their membership tenure is used as metrics for measuring their trust. However these metrics are not sufficient to determine the efficacious user which does not completely yield trustworthy result. Thus we propose a strengthened methodology to classify the efficacious users thereby increasing the probability of trustworthy posts. In addition to the existing metrics, the efficacious users are chosen based on a selective set of criteria: User intents, Credibility and their expertise. These findings can open new avenues of research into rapid data collection and provides up-to-date information for the pharmaceutical industry, hospitals and medical staffs on the effectiveness of future treatments. |
